Do you need an intensive?

If your relationship feels stuck, fragile, or in need of more dedicated support, a couples therapy intensive may be a more effective path. Intensives offer focus, intentionality and the depth needed for meaningful relational repair.

We can explore this option during your consultation.

An EMDR Experience for Meaningful, Integrated and lasting change.

Some experiences settle deep in the nervous system.
They shape how you respond, how you protect yourself, and how you move through relationships—even when you cognitively “know better.” Traditional weekly therapy can offer support and insight, but it often isn’t spacious enough to work with the deeper layers that want time, rhythm, and uninterrupted attention.

An EMDR intensive offers a different kind of experience:
intentional, immersive, and crafted to support clarity, regulation, and internal coherence at a pace your system can truly integrate.

This EMDR intensive is designed with care, precision, and depth without rushing your process or overwhelming your system.  This style com

FAQs

  • Traumatic or overwhelming experiences don’t live in the mind alone.
They live in the body, the nervous system, and the protective strategies you had to develop to stay safe.

    EMDR intensives allow us to:

    • work with the memory network that’s driving current patterns

    • access deeper layers without being interrupted by the clock

    • follow your system’s natural rhythm rather than artificially stopping mid-process

    • integrate emotional, cognitive, relational, and physiological shifts

    • create movement where things have felt stuck for years

This depth is difficult to achieve in a 50-minute hour.
The intensive format gives you the continuity needed to complete what your system begins.

  • Each intensive is curated individually. No two are the same.
    Your experience may involve:

    • Comprehensive Pre-Intensive Assessment

We identify themes, patterns, triggers, and the root structure beneath your current symptoms.

    • Nervous System Preparation & Resourcing

Before processing anything, we strengthen the internal and external supports that help your system stay grounded and capable.

    • Target Selection & Processing

We follow your nervous system—not a rigid protocol—to locate the experiences that still hold emotional charge and shape your present.

    • EMDR Processing Sessions (4–10 hours total)

Attuned, spacious work with consistent rhythm, clear pacing, and grounding throughout.

    • Integration & Meaning-Making

We explore the shifts that emerge and how they connect to your identity, relationships, and internal experience.

    • Post-Intensive Follow-Up

A dedicated session to support stability and continued integration.

You are not dropped into deep work without structure.
The intensive is carefully held, thoughtfully paced, and grounded in nervous system science and systemic understanding.

  • An EMDR intensive may be appropriate if you are:

    • navigating trauma that hasn’t shifted through talk therapy

    • carrying internal conflict, shame, or self-protection you can’t “logic” your way out of. You've tried. I see you.

    • experiencing physical or emotional activation that doesn’t match your present reality. You know it's different but it doesn't feel different.

    • trying to understand patterns that feel old, confusing, or persistent

    • wanting a more concentrated, efficient, and transformative approach

Many people drawn to intensives are high-functioning, self-aware, and exhausted by patterns they can’t untangle on their own.
You don’t need to be in crisis to want relief—you may simply be ready.

  • EMDR intensives are:

    • attuned:  I use my expertise to help you zoom into the right areas of focus, pacing that accommodates you, a responsive style to your system.

    • holistic: integrating mind, body, memory, spirit and relational context

    • systemic:  trauma doesn’t happen in isolation, and neither does healing. Understanding you within your family, community and the world.

    • personalized: Every body needs something different. We work together to give yours just what works best for you.

    • deep: addressing the patterns beneath symptoms, not just managing them

This is not EMDR rushed or overstimulating.
It is EMDR done with care, nuance, and enough time to let the work land.

  • While outcomes vary, many clients experience:

    • clarity around confusing internal experiences

    • reduction in emotional reactivity

    • less activation or shutdown in triggering moments

    • relief from patterns that felt automatic

    • increased self-trust and internal steadiness

    • more coherence between what they feel and how they respond

    • the ability to access connection and regulation more easily. More choices. More confidence. More you.

    Intensives don’t erase your history;
they change the way your system holds it and what is accessible to you in the future.
